Why WAVE2M
Wavenis OSA was established in 2008 to promote the Wavenis standard, a two-way wireless connectivity platform. In 2011 the name was changed to WAVE2M to reflect the changing focus of the organisation and the evolution of the standard.
The new name and logo seeks to be an evolution rather than a revolution, building on the best of the existing organisation's reputation. The Wave element of the brand is considered powerful and highly relevant and so has been retained within the new brand name.
To reinforce the nature of the technology as a wireless, two way, machine to machine connectivity platform the company has brought together these concepts in the new brand name.
The organisation has brought these elements of the technology and existing brand together in the new identity:
- An evolution of Wavenis into a new independent standard and organisation.
- A radio wave based wireless communication platform.
- A 2-way communication platform.
- For machine to machine communication.

The name can also be used in the short form W2M, playing on the concept of turning the M of M2M upside-down and presenting it as W2M

The new name for the organisation retains some of the best parts of its legacy and retains a focus on good technology at its core.
At the same time it moves the organisation forwards and establishes it as an entirely separate, independent entity from the company that developed the technology in the first place.
